"NMC announces creation of Common National Medical Register for all healthcare practitioners in India"
The National Medical Commission (NMC) of India has announced the creation of a Common National Medical Register (CNMR) for all healthcare practitioners across the country. This register will include information such as the names of doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, as well as their qualifications, registration numbers, and practice locations. The purpose of this initiative is to create a centralised database of medical practitioners that will improve the efficiency and transparency of the healthcare system in India. The CNMR is expected to become operational by the end of 2023, and all healthcare practitioners will be required to register with the NMC to be included in the database.
